Easter Brunch Guide

By Gayot Editors

Also called Resurrection Sunday or Pascha, Easter is one of the most important days in the Christian faith commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Easter Brunch is all about pastel colors, fresh flowers (tulips, lilies, hyacinths), and a light, airy table setting. Many hosts incorporate Easter egg hunts for kids before or after the meal, making it a full morning-into-afternoon event.

In 2026, the celebrating of Easter is on Sunday April 5.

Easter Brunch menus tend to feature a mix of sweet and savory:
Savory staples — Ham (often glazed with honey or brown sugar) is the centerpiece. Quiche, eggs Benedict, frittatas, smoked salmon, and deviled eggs, (see a recipe below), are perennial favorites.
Breads & pastries — Hot cross buns, croissants, scones, and braided Easter bread are traditional. Pancakes and French toast casseroles are crowd-pleasers for families with kids.
Spring sides — Fresh fruit salads, asparagus, roasted carrots, and spring pea dishes reflect the season’s produce.
Sweets — Carrot cake is the quintessential Easter dessert. Lemon tarts, coconut cake, and anything pastel-colored and egg-shaped also make appearances.
